Camino Corp. (TSXV:COR) (OTC PINK:CAMZF) (WKN: A116E1) (“Camino” or the “Company”) is happy to report that core drilling has begun at its Los Chapitos copper project near the seaside town of Chala in the Department of Arequipa, Peru (“Los Chapitos”). Drill prospects for near-surface high-grade copper at Lourdes-Condori are in allowed regions that have never been drilled. Bulk-scale manto-style copper mineralization is being pursued by the company in order to complement resource delineation studies at other recognized copper zones at Los Chapitos.
Jose Bassan, chief geologist, stated, “Along a 175-meter road cut that leads to our first drill target at the Lourdes zone, copper oxides have been uncovered intermittently. Our Adriana zone’s revealed mineralization appears to be similar.”
“The few new copper finds announced globally in the last ten years have primarily been at older, recognized resources and existing mines,” stated Camino CEO Jay Chmelauskas. “We’re taking a risk and drilling fresh greenfield copper targets that, if successful, will benefit the copper market in general and Camino shareholders.”
Copper oxidation along structures and in volcanic vesicles in Breccia and Chocolate Formation volcanics has been discovered in newly opened access road cuttings to the proposed drilling target at Lourdes (see Figure 1). The projected Lourdes drilling region is about 1.4 kilometers north of the Adriana zone, which has shown continuous copper mineralization over substantial intervals.
