Gokhran, a unit of the Russian Treasury, gross bought Alrosa in 2009 during the economic crisis and considered doing so again during the 2020 Covid19 recession. However, as the market recovered, the transaction was reversed: Alrosa bought stock from Gokhran last year to fill supply gaps.
